Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (exam SC-100) · Microsoft
SC-100 is Microsoft’s expert-level security architecture certification: it proves you can turn a security strategy into Zero Trust architectures covering identity, security operations, compliance, infrastructure, applications, data and AI. It is reserved for holders of an associate security certification. Its strength is a real architect’s view, close to the CISSP but anchored in Microsoft technologies; its limit is that it stays focused on that ecosystem.
- Exam
- About 40 to 60 questions (not published), case studies included, in 100 minutes (120 if the exam contains labs), pass mark 700/1,000. English version updated on 21 October 2026.
- Exam price
- $165US price, excluding tax. The price depends on the country: Microsoft SC exams cost €126 excluding VAT in France.
- Required experience
- Hold at least one of the following: SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst), SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator) or SC-500 (Cloud and AI Security Engineer). Expert skills in at least one security area are expected.
- Validity and maintenance
- Valid 12 months. Renew for free by passing an online assessment on Microsoft Learn before expiry.
