Privacy audit: cookies, consent and third-party trackers

KrakenShield opens your home page in a real browser and compares three journeys: before any choice, after refusing and after accepting cookies. You see what is stored, what is contacted and what leaves the European Union.

Privacy audit

Read the transcript

A privacy audit observes cookies and trackers before a choice, after rejection and after consent. I show you what changes and which privacy protections need checking.

What the audit observes

What your website really does, choice by choice

Technical observations to guide your GDPR and ePrivacy work. This is not a legal certification.

Before any choice

Cookies and storage set on arrival, before the visitor has answered the banner: the most common complaint.

After refusal

What is still stored or contacted when the visitor refuses. Refusing must be as effective as accepting.

After acceptance

What is added once consent is given, to check that every tracker matches an announced purpose.

Cookies and storage

First and third-party cookies, lifetime, local and session storage of the browser.

Trackers and third-party domains

Analytics, advertising, social networks, embedded fonts and videos: every contacted domain, with its owner.

Transfers outside the EU

Recipients located outside the European Union, to know where a transfer framework is needed.

How it works

Three steps

  1. 1

    Enter the address

The audit covers the public home page of the website, with no ownership check.

  2. 2

    Three automatic visits

An isolated browser visits the page three times and answers the consent banner differently each time.

  3. 3

    Priority actions

The report compares the three journeys and ranks the actions to take, from the most urgent to the simplest.

What you get

A concrete basis for your records and your banner

The report is a starting point with your DPO, your web agency or your consent banner provider.

  • Inventory of cookies and trackers, journey by journey
  • Third-party domains contacted and recipients’ countries
  • Priority actions explained
  • Report exportable as PDF
  • Comparison of two audits to measure your progress

Audit cost

1 Kredit

The cost is shown before you confirm and is deducted only if the audit succeeds.

A Kredit costs €29 to €19.03 excl. VAT depending on the pack.

Pricing

What the audit does not do

  • It only analyses the home page, not pages behind a login.
  • It does not replace a lawyer’s or DPO’s opinion: it brings verifiable technical facts.
Frequently asked questions

What people ask us

Does the audit make me GDPR compliant?

No, no tool can. It shows what the website really does, which lets you fix technical gaps and document your approach.

How does the tool answer the cookie banner?

It recognises the main consent management platforms and clicks “Reject”, then “Accept”, in separate visits. If the banner is not recognised, the report says so.

Can I audit a competitor’s or a supplier’s website?

Yes, the audit covers a public page, as a visitor would see it. Use the results with discernment.
